There are two ways to become a member with Common Good — Individual members and Business members.

We want our Common Good Business Members to thrive! No Credit Card fees, easy invoicing, and training and techincal support for your staff, accounting, and operations.

What’s it like to be a Common Good business?

Customers who care about community, sustainability, and democracy shop with you first, but that is not the only benefit to being a Common Good business. As a Common Good business you’ll be able to:

 

  • Process payments quickly with our free CGPay™ app.
  • Save money on credit card fees (Common Good payments are free).
  • Pay participating employees and suppliers online.
  • Easy invoicing and automated collection.
  • Move funds easily (or automatically!) to or from your account.
  • Receive training and support for your staff and technical support for your software, accounting, or operations.
  • Ask for new features to make your job easier. We listen!
 

And we’re always here to help with our responsive support by email, phone or in person for your business account.

Common Good Business Members

To open a Common Good account for your business, click the Sign Up button below. You will be asked to open a personal account, which will be your sign-in to the company account as well. Once your personal account is complete, go to your Summary Page and click “Open a Company Account”. Follow the steps and instructions to complete your company account. Within your account you can switch between your personal account and business account as needed. Each account has the following features curated to suit your needs:

  • Add or edit administrators within your business account
  • Pay suppliers and employees through your business’s payroll page
  • Receive payments, cash transfers, and deposits
  • Review outstanding invoices by going to History
  • Record expenses directly in your business’s accounting system
  • Schedule automatic cash-outs for transfers to your personal bank account
  • Create automatic e-coupons and gift cards
  • Automatic transaction uploads to your server, even without WiFi!

Common Good Individual Members

Don’t have a business but still want to be a member? Click the Sign Up button below! Follow the steps and instructions to complete your account. Each account has the following features curated to suit your needs:

  • Deposit and withdraw directly to your personal bank account
  • Review transaction history and invoices
  • Easy Round Up options to support your community and the common good
  • Create a joint account as needed
  • Highest level of system security so members can feel confident making purchases

How is this sustainable without fees?

Common Good is almost entirely automated and self-serve. However, Common Good is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit and will continue to depend on grants, donations and contributions from members, partners, donors and funders. We at Common Good appreciate your support enormously.

The Common Good system reports all Common Good payments made to you, to the IRS and to state government, on Forms 1099-K as required by law. You may choose to use your SSN or EIN as the company’s federal ID. For more details, visit “Tax Info” in to your Common Good account.
